,This is my 32nd year of teaching for Grand Ledge Public Schools. Previously, I spent 16 years at Hayes Middle School teaching 6th, 7th, and 8th grade art. Over the last 16 years, I have had the opportunity to teach all of the art classes that are offered at Grand Ledge High School. This school year, I am teaching Metals and Jewelry Design 1 and 2, Drawing, Painting, and Studio Art classes. It is a great pleasure and privilege to be able to work with your sons and daughters, and help them develop their creativity. It is vey satisfying to see the delight and pride they have in their artwork. I have enjoyed teaching summer art classes to students for 28 years. Presently, I am in my sixth year of teaching Dual Enrollment Art classes for Kendall College of Art and Design after school. This is a program for students that are interested in pursuing a career related to art and design. I have a double major from Michigan State University in Art Education (1976), and Psychology (1982). Also, I earned a teaching endorsement from the University Of Michigan-Flint for Social Studies (1992). My Masters degree is from Olivet College, in The Art Of Teaching (2006). Continuing to learn new things, is something I find very rewarding and I enjoy doing. I have three adult children Desiree, David, and Danika. Our daughter Danika and husband Rick, had our first grand child Daniel last summer. My husband Dave, and I have been married for 46 years and reside in Eaton County. In my spare time I enjoy gardening, because for me, the soil/land is a large canvas, and the flowers and plants are the paint that you can apply any way you want. I find that experiencing and being close to nature is very satisfying, Also, I am an avid how to do-it-yourself person, so I am always learnings new methods to create artwork for myself, others, and to help my students.
